The Silent Gliss 7670 Standard Motorised Metropole is a made-to-measure electric curtain pole that combines the appearance of a decorative pole with the smooth operation of a Silent Gliss motorised curtain system.

With a slim 38mm round profile, the 7670 is a good choice where you want motorised curtains but prefer the appearance of a curtain pole rather than a conventional electric curtain track.

The curtains run from rollers inside the Metropole profile rather than from curtain rings around the outside of the pole. This gives the system the clean appearance of a pole while allowing the curtains to travel smoothly along the system.

Available in 13 finishes with a choice of matching end caps and decorative finials, the 7670 can be supplied for straight windows as well as professionally shaped bay and curved window installations.

Motorised curtain operation

The Silent Gliss 7670 uses the Silent Gliss 9060 motor, providing smooth powered opening and closing for everyday curtain operation.

The motor includes Touch & Go, allowing you to start the curtains moving with a gentle pull of the fabric. Once movement is detected, the motor takes over and completes the opening or closing cycle.

Soft start and soft stop help provide controlled curtain movement, while the manual override allows the curtains to be moved manually if power is unavailable.

Standard wired control

This Standard version of the 7670 is supplied without radio remote control.

It is suitable for operation using an appropriate wired wall switch and can also form part of a professionally specified control arrangement where required.

If you would prefer remote, app or smart-home control, alternative Silent Gliss control options are available for the 7670.

Electrical connections should always be completed by a suitably qualified electrician.

Made to measure for straight or bay windows

The Silent Gliss 7670 is manufactured to the size required for your window rather than being cut down from a standard-length pole.

It can be supplied as a straight system or professionally bent to suit bay windows, angled windows and curved glazing.

Bent 7670 systems are manufactured and shaped by Silent Gliss to the dimensions supplied, so accurate measurements are particularly important when ordering a bay or curved system.

Suitable for Wave curtains

The 7670 can be supplied for Silent Gliss Wave curtains, using the appropriate Wave roller system to create regular, evenly spaced curtain folds.

It can also be used with many standard curtain headings where the curtains are attached to hooks and suspended from the rollers within the pole.

Eyelet curtains cannot be used with the 7670, because the curtain needs to hang below the Metropole profile rather than passing over the outside of the pole.

Designed for larger curtain installations

The 7670 is suitable for both domestic windows and larger curtain installations.

Depending on the individual layout and curtain configuration, the system can be manufactured up to 6 metres long and can carry curtain weights of up to 45kg.

For particularly heavy curtains, large windows or shaped systems, we recommend checking the curtain weight and window dimensions before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Silent Gliss 7670?

The Silent Gliss 7670 is a 38mm motorised Metropole curtain pole.

Unlike a traditional curtain pole where the curtain hangs from rings around the pole, the 7670 has an internal running system. The curtains hang underneath the profile and are opened and closed by a motor.

This gives you the decorative appearance of a curtain pole with the convenience of electric curtain operation.

What does 7670 Standard mean?

Our Standard configuration is supplied without radio remote control. It is intended primarily for wired operation using an appropriate wall switch.

Other Silent Gliss control options are available if you require remote, app-based or smart-home operation. For more informaion give our team a call who will be more than happy to help,

Which motor does the Silent Gliss 7670 use?

The 7670 uses the Silent Gliss SG 9060 motor.

This motor provides powered curtain movement together with features including Touch & Go and manual override.

Does the 7670 need an electrician?

Electrical installation should be completed by a suitably qualified electrician.

The exact electrical requirements will depend on the control and power configuration selected for your installation.

Can the Silent Gliss 7670 go around a bay window?

Yes. The 7670 can be professionally bent for bay windows, corners and curved glazing.

For shaped systems, the pole is manufactured to the dimensions and angles supplied rather than being bent on site by hand.

Can I bend the 7670 myself?

No. The 7670 is a motorised system containing an internal drive mechanism and should be professionally manufactured and bent to the required window shape. If you are ordering for a bay window, accurate measurements are essential.

Can I use Wave curtains with the 7670?

Yes. The Silent Gliss 7670 is available with a Wave-compatible roller system, making it suitable for Wave curtains. The regular folds produced by Wave heading also work particularly well with the clean appearance of the Metropole profile.

Can I use normal curtains on the 7670?

Yes. Many standard curtain headings can be used provided the curtain can be attached to hooks and suspended from the runners within the pole. This includes common headings such as pencil pleat and pinch pleat.

Can I use eyelet curtains on the Silent Gliss 7670?

No.  Eyelet curtains are designed to pass over the outside of a curtain pole. The 7670 uses rollers running inside the Metropole profile, so the curtains must hang underneath it.

What is Touch & Go?

Touch & Go allows you to operate the curtains without using the wall switch. Give the curtain a gentle pull in the direction you want it to travel and the motor detects the movement and continues opening or closing the curtains automatically.

Can I still move the curtains if there is a power cut?

Yes. The SG 9060 motor includes a manual override function, allowing the curtains to be moved manually if electrical power is unavailable.

What is the maximum length of a Silent Gliss 7670?

The Silent Gliss specification lists the 7670 at up to 6 metres. The exact permitted length and curtain weight will depend on the configuration of the system.

How much curtain weight can the 7670 carry?

The system is rated for curtain weights of up to 45kg, subject to the individual system design and configuration. If you have particularly heavy curtains or a large window, contact us with the dimensions and approximate curtain weight before ordering.

Is the 7670 available in different colours?

Yes. The 38mm Metropole profile is available in 13 finishes, with coordinating brackets, end caps and a range of decorative finials available to complete the system.

Can the Silent Gliss 7670 be ceiling fixed?

Yes. The 7670 can be supplied for either wall fixing or ceiling fixing. The bracket and fixing arrangement required will depend on whether the pole is straight or bent and on the end cap or finial selected.
