The Metropolitan metal curtain pole works with gliders to combine the effective operating system of a curtain track with the design and look of a pole. A channel in the bottom of the pole allows the gliders to slide along underneath, which creates less friction and stress on the pole. This allows large expanses to be crossed and heavier curtains to be hung from them. Brackets can be placed anywhere along the track and the curtains can glide past the brackets, allowing multiple curtains to be hung on the curtain pole. Our curtain poles with gliders can also be bent for bay windows.
Metropolitan poles are ideal if you require a bay window curtain pole, have heavy curtains or for a weak fixing as extra brackets can be used without restricting the curtains. They are also ideal for top fixing close to the ceiling as the pole fits almost directly to the ceiling. If you use your curtains often and want the efficiency of a track but a more decorative look, then this range is for you.

| Silent Gliss 1003 23mm Uncorded Metropolitan Metal Pole |
 The Silent Gliss 1003 Metropole curtain pole is a very aesthetically pleasing pole. It is a 23mm metal pole that is very design orientated and has a large range of accessories. Unlike most pole systems the 1003 uses gliders in the channel at the bottom as opposed to rings. This reduces the amount of friction and makes the pole run smoothly. Excellent for straight or bay windows it can also be fitted flush to the ceiling if necessary. It is a very modern pole that has all the charm and style of a pole but with the working quality of a track. Suitable for lightweight curtains.

 The Silent Gliss 6100 Metro Flat has a face depth of 36mm. Although it works in the same way as a curtain track, we have categorised it as a pole as it comes in a range of contemporary colours and is designed to be minimal yet stylish and modern. An ideal product for those that want a simple designed curtain track with a bolder style.

 The Silent Gliss 6130 Metropole curtain pole is very similar to the 1003. The only difference being that the diameter of this metal pole is 30mm instead of 23mm. Like the 1003, the 6130 has a wide selection of colours and finials including wood effects. These wood effects offer a wood finished look that, unlike wooden poles, can be bent to fit a bay window. Also like the 1003 pole the 6130 has gliders as opposed to rings which make it more practical and efficient. The 6130 is a brilliantly styled pole with the excellent working quality of a track and is suitable for medium to heavy weight curtains.

The 6140 is a brilliantly styled pole giving a traditional classic effect with the excellent working quality of a track. It is suitable for medium to heavy weight curtains.
